 Position Summary

Trinity has an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level SQL Database Developer to join its growing and dynamic team.  The developer  will provide technical development and maintenance services in support of the operational and strategic data needs of our commercial clients. This position interweaves maintenance and development of an integrated database, application, and reporting environment with daily, collaborative interactions with business analysts and BI developers.  The developer will be responsible for delivering technical results, including, but not limited to: authoring complex stored procedures, SSIS packages, basic database maintenance routines, and raw data deliveries for business analytics. Advancement opportunities are available for individuals who display creativity, self-initiative and motivation, while simultaneously taking ownership of challenging and more complex development assignments   The DB Developer will be supported by an experienced cadre of senior and other mid-level DBs who offer diverse backgrounds in software and database engineering.

 Position Responsibilities

• Author complex stored procedures and T-SQL Jobs
• Assist in project planning and scheduling; Gather feedback from business users and understand requirements
• Design and manage database import / export processes used to generate client deliverables
• Develop and maintain SSIS packages
• Assist development staff with the debugging and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures
• Ongoing database maintenance, change management, and performance tuning
• Database modeling and design
• Research issues and devise corrective actions
• Assist and support Business Analysis and Business Intelligence activities
• Implement and manage database backup, archive, and recovery processes
• Develop and manage database ETL processes used to generate client deliverables

Position Requirements

Education: a B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, MIS or other related fields

Work Experience:  4/5+ years of relevant development experience

Other Skills:

• Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server database; Oracle 9i-10g databases a plus
• Expert SQL Developer; SSIS and SSAS (a plus)
• Familiarity with Data Modeling
• Strong data analytical skills and solid understanding of reporting principles
• Experience with 3^rd party reporting applications a plus
• Strong communication skills. Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
• Ability to work on simultaneous projects, is self-motivated, and works with minimal supervision
• Pharmaceutical sales data with knowledge of third party data, IMS or Wolters Kluwer a plus
